Islam is a complete manual for life.  Islam provides all kinds of principled and detailed guidance on every aspect of life. This is what distinguishes Islam from other religions. While living in the world, a person usually has to face beliefs, rituals, family system, social system, economic system, political system, and judicial system. Family is the basic unit of society.  If we define society as a tall and strong building, then the family is its brick.  If the brick is strong and installed in its proper place, there is no doubt about the strength of the building.  Similarly, if the institution of the family is strong and is built on the right foundations and principles, then the society based on it will be stable. The composition of a family includes a man, a woman, and their children and the relationship between man and woman is essential for the survival of the family. For this relationship, almost all religions have made marriage between a man and a woman mandatory. History shows that marriage is as old as man is.  The first person of the human race was also devoted to sexual relations. This relationship of marriage is found in almost all civilizations of the world in one form or another. This relationship between man and woman began with the union of Hazrat Adam (A.S) and Hazrat Hawa. In Arabic and Urdu language, the word Nikah is common, while in Urdu the word similar to Nikah, Shadi, are also common. In the English language, the word Marriage is used for this. Maulana Mujahidul Islam while illustrating the definition of Nikah writes: "Marriage (Nikah) is an agreement made between a man and a woman based on Shariah principles, as a result of which the sexual relationship with each other is permissible and the lineage of the children born is proved as Shariah and mutual freedoms and obligations are imposed."

Importance and Benefits of Nikah

Marriage is very important in Islam. The thought of moderation and the theory of balance presented by Islam about marriage is very comprehensive and unique. In the visions of Islam, marriage is not just a name for the fulfillment of human desires and satisfaction of natural emotions. Just as there are many natural needs of man, marriage is also an important natural need of man. Therefore, in Islam, man is allowed to fulfill this natural need in a legitimate and civilized way, and Islam has described marriage as necessary for human survival and protection. The Prophet ï·º declared marriage as his Sunnah. Man has become somewhat restless and naturally needs ease and so has nature to fulfill natural emotions and human desires. Comfort and joy, peace and pleasure are inherent. Marriage is a very effective and efficient way for a man to succeed in creating his goal. Allah has placed many religious and worldly benefits for man in marriage. For example, social benefits, family benefits, moral benefits, spiritual benefits, psychological benefits, etc. Marriage is another name for benefits and qualities.


A woman is a priceless gift to a man and a source of comfort and satisfaction for a man, so a man who respects ​​a woman lives a successful and peaceful life. If a person tries to turn away from marriage, which is a natural human need, then the person has to face dangerous consequences. Without marriage, the whole system becomes chaotic. People in the world have always recognized marriage as an important need.  Relationships between men and women without fixed ceremonies and customs are considered to be bad and immoral. In Islam, a man can send a marriage message to a woman and a woman can also send a marriage message to a man.  While giving the message of marriage, it is preferable to speak with allusions instead of explicit words, because speaking with allusions has a sense of shame and revelation.


Islam has not set any specific age for marriage but has set a rule "Puberty" is necessary for marriage.  Now the period of puberty is not the same in every region and every country. In some regions, boys and girls mature early, while in others region has co it takes longer to reach adulthood. In this complex life, every human being needs a home and comfort, and love. Therefore, he wants a partner who is the keeper of his secrets, his benefactor, supporter, and helper, so that he can gain love and affection from him and benefit from his sincere help and support. Also, he needs a person who can make him his life partner. In health and sickness, honor and disgrace, joy and sorrow, poverty and wealth, comfort and poverty, and be faithful, kind, and benevolent to him in all situations. A man by nature needs sexual acts and he needs satisfaction of this desire, therefore he falls into error. Therefore, marriage is the best and safest means to fulfill their desires and avoid sins.


Nikah's origin of physical and psychological well-being. Sexual activity and performance is a natural need that keeps the body and nerves healthy and fit. Therefore, by controlling it or eliminating it, the nerves of a person become weak and he is out of a moderate state it is possible that several psychological diseases such as constant sadness, hopelessness, anxiety, fear, pessimism, and helplessness. The root cause of mistrust and anger is the destruction of sexual desire. Therefore, getting married at the right age and fulfilling sexual desire through the Sharia method is also a means of health and wellness of human nerves and body.


If a person marries at an early age and engages in domestic life, he will stay away from immorality and moral vices. As a result, rape, the disappearance of girls and women, rape, masturbation, even drug addiction, murder, and theft will be reduced.  Getting married at the right time is very effective for the safety and security of the environment and society, that's why Islam has urged the guardians and teachers of children to arrange the marriage of young people who are not married.


In the sights of Islam, the reproduction of the race and increasing the population has special importance and it was declared as one of the main purposes of marriage. One of the benefits of marriage is to get pleasure and achieve sexual desire in a Shariah method.  Sexual pleasure is one of the most important pleasures among the pleasures of the world, and in Islam, it is not reprehensible, but it is a Shariah act.


Verses about Nikah or Muslims Marriage

"And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought." [Surah-ur-Room 30:21]


"And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing." [Surah-un-Noor 24:32]


"And it is He who created from water a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation]." [Surah-ul-Furqan 25:54]
